Debra Epstein  has applied her Chemistry background across analysis of controlled substances, toxicology, and DNA since 1987.  She has also held management and technical leadership positions for the Arizona Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory, Phoenix Police Department Laboratory Services Bureau and the National Forensic Science Technology Center.  Ms. Epstein is a highly experienced auditor under the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories and Databasing Laboratories and has served as a lead and technical assessor for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.  She has provided technical and auditor training to numerous forensic laboratory systems and law enforcement audiences.  Debra is President of Bright-Line Forensic Sciences, LLC where she leads the business and provides training design and delivery, auditing, and consultancy in science, management and quality assurance.


David Epstein has a long history in forensic science, management, and quality assurance and holds a current security clearance. He has served in analytical, laboratory management, consulting, and assessment roles for Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory (New Iberia, LA), National Forensic Science Technology Center, and Forensic Quality Services (FQS).  David is a highly experienced ISO/IEC 17025 lead assessor and technical assessor, and was involved in the initial creation of FQS.  He has provided hands-on auditor training over 15 times to more than 200 students.  Mr. Epstein has been trained in a broad range of forensic science topics and topics essential to the application of International Standards.  David is vice president of Bright-Line Forensic Sciences, LLC where he participates in management, training course design and delivery, auditing, and consultancy in science, management, and quality assurance.
